I’m writing this early before heading to see family on Easter, and thinking mostly of the press conference last week where Mayor Adams said he was wearing a shirt in Spanish to honor those who died in the nightclub roof collapse in the Dominican Republic but the shirt was actually in Italian.
This was a sequel to the “In God We Trust” t-shirt he wore the week before at his weekly off-topic press briefing. It left me with many unanswered questions: Did he not know the whole thing was in Italian? Who made the shirt? Will there be more shirts? Was it a secret message to the city’s Italians?
I will be wondering all of this all day. Buona Pasqua!
